Description
Route: Really nice route. We start along the water, then out onto the fort, down through the beautiful harbor and end along the beach road.
Dragør Fort is located on a small artificial island with a fixed land connection from Dragør town. Dragør Fort was built in the period 1910-1915. The fort's task was to help prevent enemy bombardment of Copenhagen as well as protect mine barriers in the Drogden trench. The area of the fort is 32,000 m², of which 2,500 m² is built-up.
During the construction of the Øresund Bridge (1995-2000), Dragør Fort was used to control ship traffic in the area via VTS Drogden (Vessel Traffic Service Drogden).
