Description

Konradløpet is organized every year on 1 May. Here speed is not the most important thing, but health in every metre.

The Konrad race is a race to honor the memory of Konrad Brunstad (Mons-Konrad 1910-2000). Konrad started training when he was in his 70s, after he and Arne C. Brunstad (Brua-Arne) had observed the phenomenon of "jogging" in the USA. The form kept getting better. He participated on several occasions in the Ålesund half-marathon - even after he had passed the age of 85. Konrad liked to train early in the morning, when the air was cleanest. Therefore, the race started at 05:00. One of his regular training runs was the "round" from Brunstad to Hole and back, exactly where the Konrad race runs. Other regular training trips were on the mountain Koppen, or a quick trip on Vellesæta.

Before the joint start there is a joint warm-up and after the race there is a prize distribution, film and music.
