Markakarusellen i Drammen – 9. løp

Description

The Markakarusellen consists of five races of 3 km, 5 km, 9 km, 5 km and 3 km. All the races are organized from the Sturla house on the Neperudjordet in Underlia once in the spring in May/June and once in the autumn in August/September. All the races are on fine dirt roads and hiking trails in Bragernesåsen and Drammensmarka.

The 5 km course starts at Sturlabanen and follows the path straight up to the dirt road and then follows the dirt road to the left up Kudalsbakken towards Stiboltkrysset. It turns right at Stiboltkrysset and follows the new gravel road all the way to the road around Hvalsdammen. Follow Hvalsdamveien to the right for a few hundred meters before it turns off on a path down to the right in the middle of the first U-turn on this road. The path passes a cabin on the left and then enters Kanonveien. The trail then follows Kanonveien all the way to Juletønna before turning right down the footpath through Hamborgstrømskogen to Neperudjord and finish at Sturlahuset.
