Description

The Mattoni České Budějovice Halfmarathon starts on the second largest square in the Czech Republic. Přemysl Otakar II Square is lined with beautiful houses, including the town hall - so you can make your wait in the start corridor more pleasant with local architecture. Legend has it that there is a wandering stone with a cross in the square and whoever crosses it will go astray. But thanks to the signage, that can't happen to you on the race!

During Mattoni České Budějovice Running Festival you can choose from the half marathon distance featuring the WA Road Race label, ČT 2Run (2 x 21km), and 5k race.

Mattoni České Budějovice Half Marathon is part of the EuroHeroes project which is an initiative of RunCzech (in cooperation with European Athletics) that aims to identify, develop, and promote local sporting heroes, and motivate the public to exercise. The project had its zero version in 2018 with two RunCzech races and fully started in 2019, when we dedicated four of our World Athletics Gold Label races - the Mattoni Half Marathons in Karlovy Vary, České Budějovice, Olomouc and Ústí nad Labem - to promote European Athletics. The elite field of these races are limited to European athletes.
