Emblemsfjellet Opp

Description

Emblemsfjellet Opp is a relatively new downhill race that is organized in Ålesund in the autumn. Previously, the race went under the name Østremsetra Opp/Over Kubbane, but the two distances are combined under the same name with the finish at the same place.

The 7.5 km uphill run is run on a varied surface such as field, gravel, path and saddle road.

The mountain race of 14.5 km starts one hour before the downhill race and has the finish at the same place so that the runners finish at roughly the same time. The route goes on beautiful paths over Høgkubben and several small blocks on the way from Spjelkavik towards Østremssetra and the finish at Grønnevollen.

There is also a separate distance for young people aged 12-16. They have a joint start with the adults at Emblemsanden, but they finish after 3.5 km at Grønnevollen.

After the races, there is a joint prize-giving and café. Prizes for the three best at both distances, trophies for class winners and prize draws among all participants. All funds received from the races go to the organization Open Doors: People on the run for their faith.
