Description
Urke Challenge - The Saksaløpet has been organized since 2017 with great success and several hundred participants. The uphill race with 1020 meters of altitude goes from Urke in Hjørundfjorden in Ørsta municipality to the top of Saksa. This is an area with a magical view of the beautiful mountains, peaks and fjords in the area. The run follows Saksåsa, which was improved with stone stairs by Sherpas from Nepal in 2015.
The Saksaløpet is part of the Alpine Trip. The Alpine trip consists of Saudehornet Rett Opp, Melshornløpet and Saksaløpet.
There is both a touring class and a competition class.
Requirement for a bag containing: windbreaker, trousers, dry super, drink bottle and energy bar/banana (the organizer will take random samples at the top, and extras will be given in time if equipment is missing).
There will be several drink stations along the route . At the top, a medal is handed out to everyone who has finished.
