Stretching exercise for calves stretches the muscles on the back of the calf, mainly the muscles m. gastrocnemius and with bent knee m. soleus.
Problemstilling
Do you have pain or stiffness in your calves, or do you suffer pain down your Achilles and foot? Do you often get cramps the calves in activity or at night? Then this exercise can help you.
Guide
Stand on an edge, for example on a staircase, on a bench or a chair, with half of your foot outside. Feel free to wear shoes like this that the edge does not become too sharp. Lean down on your heel with your leg straight, and let your body weight put pressure on your ankle. With full stretch in the knee, you stretch the upper part of the calf. Bending the knee slightly stretches the lower part of the calf. Hold the position for 15 seconds, and repeat on the opposite leg.
