The big goals

The year 2023 will be an exciting, fun, but demanding year. I have already set myself two big goals for the spring season.

How should I prepare, what is expected of me?

My first big goal is Run Rome the Marathon on March 19. I have no experience with marathons. I have run half marathons several times, but marathons are something completely different. I am lucky enough to be an ambassador for Runagain and they have given me the opportunity to go to Rome to run my first marathon!

I have to plan, train and prepare, I don't run a marathon without being ready for it. I have to plan and take family life into account. I have to train so that I can perform as well as I can. Prepare myself and my body for the strain of being out running 42.195 km.

Fortunately, I am not doing this alone. I have a coach who has a lot of expertise in running, someone who set a world record in the marathon, someone who has won the biggest marathons. Ingrid Kristiansen will help me achieve my goals!

I have set myself 3 goals for the marathon:

  1. To finish with a sense of accomplishment
  2. Run under 3 hours
  3. Run under 2.50 min

Measure no. 3 is not the most important, but I like to set myself a goal that hangs high.

Ingrid has trained me for a number of years already, but now we are going to prepare for the marathon. Ingrid will run a number of race tests, create a training programme. My task is to run and make sure not to get hurt.

My interim goal for the spring season is the Gothenburg yard 13.05.23. I'm going to run a half marathon here. The half marathon is a distance I know well and that I like to run. It is demanding but fun at the same time. Ingrid is making a program for me up until the Göteborgsvarvet, and I have a goal of running in 1.17.59.

What are your goals for 2023?
