The Aabenraa Mountain Marathon offers both tough hills - and thousands of participants. The Aabenraa Mountain Marathon has been held since the turn of the millennium and the route is characterized by the many meters of altitude in the beautiful landscape east of the city. The start and finish takes place on the beautiful Storetorv in the center of the old market town, where you also get around the old town with the beautiful houses. The race is traditionally one of the Danish exercise races, which year after year attracts over 2000 participants from all over the country.

The marathon route consists of 2 loops that are run through twice. There are experienced pacers at the marathon and half-marathon.

Everyone who finishes gets a medal. There are prizes for No. 1, 2 and 3 for both men and women at all distances with the exception of the 500 m children's race. For the organic hill sprint, there are prizes for the fastest woman and fastest man in the marathon and half-marathon distances.
