We're doing it again - now for the 3rd time! Hvalsø Running Club will hold the Musvågen Forest Run 2024 - after another success in 2023.

Set out on a 5 ∙ 10 ∙ half- ∙ full- ∙ or ultramarathon of up to 80 km in beautiful and hilly forest terrain.

The race takes place in Bidstrup Skovene's fantastic and highly hilly landscape. The longest distances will be tested with Zealand's highest point: Gyldenløveshøj.

There are 4 different and thoroughly marked routes which together run over 42.2 km of varied terrain; many narrow tracks with variable surfaces and some passages with wide paths.

The race starts in the forest – and stays out there. There are good altitude meters to be gained in the Zealand highlands.

You can enjoy yourself!

The 4 forest routes are thoroughly marked with different colored flags. Under each race distance here on the website, you can read more about the routes, location of depots - as well as maps of the route's progress inside the forest.

Here is a brief outline of the routes and some of the signature locations you can look forward to see along the way:

The blue one. 5 km. A challenging medley over Det Hvide Spor, one of Denmark's best singletrack MTB tracks, and surrounding trails with many turns and small climbs.

The red one. 10 km. The "riding path" takes the runners completely away from the usual roads and onto a cool running experience with forest floor, stones and branches.

The one in pink. 11.1 km. The Valborup round has both Skjoldungesti, Avnsø and more open expanses on its way. A good mix of narrow tracks with variable surfaces and passages with wide paths.

The yellow. 16.1 km. The Gyldenløveshøj challenge is a good 125m at the top, which was artificially created around the 18th century. The forest run's longest route offers beautiful stretches, challenging trail paths, some wide forest paths, forest floor and quite a few ups and downs ;).

The routes start from the same start and finish area, and from there out into different parts of the large area of Bidstrup Forests. Every time a new route is started, one has thus passed the finish area, where one's running time is recorded.

Starting point is Avnstrup. Parking at and around Center Avnstrup, Avnstrupvej 1 4330 Hvalsø. There are directions and signage from the parking area to the start inside the forest, a short kilometer on foot.

Participant prices:

Ultra race up to the super distance of 80 km: DKK 385,-

Marathon 42.2 km: DKK 265, -

Half marathon 21.1 km: DKK 195,-

10 km: DKK 125,-

5 km: DKK 85,-

As a participant, you get:

✔ Placement on the official results list and the opportunity to print a diploma after the race

✔ A small stool ceremony and a big round of applause for each of the 5 distance's three fastest men and women.

✔ An opportunity to hang around for common fun and some light refreshments in the finish area, when the last ones have been sent off and until the end of the race at 17.
