Nærsnes Backyard is a low-threshold race organized in the terrain around Nærsnes. Backyard is a social race where it doesn't matter how fast you run, but only complete 1 lap (6.7km) in under 1 hour. This is enough time to be able to walk uphill and run calmly up and down. For those who want to test how far they can run, a new round will start every full hour. The last round will be the 12th round (at 23:00) which will decide the winner if there is still more than 1 participant left. The fastest on the final lap will be the one who walks away with the win. Everyone who completes 8 rounds qualifies for ultra distance and belt buckle (over 50km).

Trail description:

The trail starts on the short side of the sports field at the NÅIF house and follows the outer edge of the field for a full lap before taking to the footpath. Turn right after the car park and right down Sokkaveien approx. 50m before down into the underpass. After the Underpass, follow the path further to the top towards the field before turning right onto the gravel path (not over the field). When you arrive at the gravel road at Baarsrudveien, turn left through the barrier. Follow the dirt road and turn right at the first dirt road intersection. When you arrive at the dam, go up a small bend to the left and follow along the pond/water for approx. 1 km to the other side. You will arrive at a junction at the end of the pond where you turn left (U-turn) up towards the farm. Here there is a steep hill of approx. 500m. When you see the farm, you still just have to keep going straight ahead approx. 1.5 km until you arrive at a crossroads. Keep straight ahead here too. after you have run on the flat at a new housing estate approx. 500m then keep right and right again until you reach the end of an asphalt road (Gartnerveien). Follow the road straight ahead and turn left into Åkerhagen. After another 50m turn left into Skoleveien. Follow Skoleveien to the school and run across the car park before running on the footpath next to the school building. Turn left after the ball pit and through the small forest before you are back on the football field to finish with 1/2 round and again through the goal arch.
