The stone ball race takes place in the eastern part of Horsens. The route starts and ends at Stensballegaard Golf Club and goes along Horsens Fjord and through the beautiful forest. The route ends with a solid climb to the part of the golf course that is normally closed to the public and is spiced up with the city's best view of Horsens and the surrounding area.

The stoneball race can be characterized as a good mix between a cross race and a trail race, as it is run exclusively on grass , gravel, forest and dirt paths (which are, however, wide). Depending on the weather, it can therefore be muddy. However, there are also approx. 500 meters on asphalt.
