Unionsmarathon

Unionmarathon is organized by Norwegian Rømskog IL and Swedish Boviken SK on the first Saturday in July each year. The trails run in scenic surroundings in the border areas between Norway and Sweden. The race was organized for the first time in 2005 in connection with the celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden.

The course runs half on asphalt and half on gravel. It is relatively hilly and surrounded by lakes, rivers, forest and agricultural settlements on both sides of the national border. The route is controlled by the Norwegian Marathon Club. The half-marathon and 10 km run only on dirt roads.

Four distances are also organized for children in the target area: 420 m, 1 km, 2 km and 4 km.
