Cross-country running series - Storstrømmen 24/25 Take on the challenge and test your strength with the four coolest cross-country races of the winter! Cross-country races are cross-country races on marked routes in the varied and challenging nature of Storstrømmen. The four races are geographically spread out in the Storstrømmen area, and there will be both familiar running areas and probably a few new acquaintances for the vast majority. The races provide new experiences and challenges every time. With three different distances (approximately 4, 8 and 12 km), the cross-country races are aimed at children/young people, exercisers and more ambitious runners who want to have a high pulse and strengthen their running form during the harsh winter months. The cross-country races are an obvious opportunity to keep the competitive spirit and not least the community alive just over the winter, so bring the family or more from the running club with you. Dates, locations and organizers are in place for the season's 4 divisions - precise routes will be prepared over the summer and autumn - but we promise challenges, nature experiences and lots of good running mood😊 The four races: 1st division: Sunday 17 November 2024 - Møns Klint - Stengårdsvej 8, 4791 Borre The first cross-country race of the season will be in Denmark's wildest nature at Møns Klint. There will be wild climbs and some fantastic views along the route. GeoCenter Møns Klint and the surrounding area form the framework for the run. Organizer: Møns løve- og motionsklub 2nd section: Sunday, December 15, 2024 - Fruens Plantage - Ny Præstøvej 306, 4700 Næstved Fruens Plantage never disappoints runners, as the forest offers unimaginable possibilities for gradients that will take the breath away from even the most seasoned runners. If you have never run in Fruens Plantage, you will definitely be surprised by how steep and challenging the forest is. Organizer: Mogenstrup LMK 3rd section: Sunday, January 19, 2025 - Næsgaard Efterskole - Bringserevej 2, 4850 Stubbekøbing Næsgaard Efterskole is the setting for the 3rd section of the cross-country running series. The route is varied in terms of surface, terrain and difficulty. The race is run on wider paths, a bit on asphalt and also on the school's own and technical MTB track. The runners will also come to the Corselitze forest, where there will be a nice sea view. Organizer: Næsgaard Efterskole 4th section: Sunday, February 23, 2025 - Faksinge Skov - Evensølundvej 5, 4720 Præstø Faksinge Skov is an "old acquaintance" in Storstrømmen's cross-country running series. The forest offers hills and elevation changes that will probably surprise and challenge most runners. The route is very varied with constant climbs and a good mix of larger forest paths and technically demanding MTB trails. After the race, there will be a joint closing of the cross-country running series and award ceremony and the naming of the Club of the Year in the lecture hall at Bosei Sports College. Organizer: Præstøløberne Distances and start times: You can choose between distances of 4, 8 or 12 km for all four rounds. Laps are run on a route of approximately 4 km. The length of the route can vary by plus/minus 300 meters, so we ensure the optimal route in relation to the area being run. The races start at 10:30 Prices: 310,- for online registration for all four races (+fee) 99,- for online registration for a single race (+fee) Online registration is possible until the Wednesday before the race. Registration for all four races must be done no later than Wednesday, November 8, at 11:59 p.m. Recent registration on the day can be done at the start/finish area for each round. Late registration for all four rounds costs 375,- and late registration for a single race costs 125,-.
