Description

Egholm Slotsløb was run for the first time in September 2022 in connection with the celebration of the 10th anniversary of KHIF Løb & Powerwalk - it was a success and in 2025 we can hold races in the surroundings of Egholm Castle for the fourth time, we look forward to welcoming you. KHIF Løb & Powerwalk is an independent department under Kirke Hyllinge Idrætsforening, where the community of movement is always in focus. In collaboration with "Kaiser Sport", we are once again inviting runners and powerwalkers to exercise runs in the forests at Egholm Castle. Everyone can join regardless of age and fitness level, there are routes for every taste. This gives everyone a good opportunity to get some forest soil under their shoes. The paths are relatively wide but at the same time have terrain that can be challenging. The long route also offers a beautiful view of the field and fjord. Start and finish are at the main gate to the castle. All distances are timed via Sportstiming/DGI. The routes As the name suggests, the race takes place in and around the scenic Egholm Castle and Museum, which is located in Hornsherred surrounded by a small grove, close to bog and meadow. In connection with the exercise run, the owner has opened the Castle Park, so we will run/walk on small and large forest paths, through the beautiful garden and follow the water-filled moat around Egholm Castle. There are the following routes: Children 3.0 km., Run: 5.0 km. and 8.3 km. and Powerwalk: 5.0 km. The routes are marked with a different color and there will be signposts on the route so that everyone can find their way around. A water depot will be set up on the route. When you arrive at Egholm Castle, you must go to the registration and get your start number with a built-in chip. At 09:45 we will start with a joint warm-up - so come in good time so that you can join in. It will be possible to park in front or within walking distance in a nearby field. Let the parking attendants help you find a space so that you can make the most of your time. We encourage carpooling and for anyone living in the area, you can consider cycling. Coffee/tea, cake, beer and water will be sold at the race site. When you reach the finish line, there will be water, juice and fruit. After the race, there will be a medal ceremony, prize presentation and raffle prizes. Toilet carts will be set up in the area. Unfortunately, it is not possible to bring dogs on the running and powerwalk routes.
