Description

The Lofoten Ultra-Trail is part of The Arctic Triple – 3 adventure runs in beautiful Lofoten. In week 22, the Lofoten Ultra-Trail is organised, which is a cross-country race through large parts of Lofoten. The race was mentioned in Runners World (Oct. 2017) as one of the most beautiful races in the world and consists of several different distances.

The extreme distance is 100 miles (166 km) and starts deep in the spectacular Kjerkfjord, at Reine in the west Lofoten. The route winds through large parts of the archipelago, over mountains, ridges and beaches before finishing at Svolvær Torg. The intermediate distance is 50 miles (81 km) and is started by the chieftain himself at the Lofotr Viking Museum at Borg, in the middle of Lofoten. Furthermore, it follows the same route as the 100 Miles trail.

The 48 km distance starts at Torvdalshalsen and also follows the same route towards the finish in Svolvær.

The popular distance on the Lofoten Ultra-Trail is 24 km and goes over 2 mountains with a total of 1000 meters in altitude. The mountains provide a fantastic 360-degree panoramic view of Lofoten's beautiful mountains and sea. In addition, there is a 12 km run that starts in Svolvær and goes around Tjeldbergtind before the finish at Sovlær Torg. A children's race will also be organized on Saturday.

The two longest distances are also offered as relays with 10 stages. The 100 Miles Relay has stages between 9-22 km and the 50 Miles Relay has stages between 3-15 km.
