Description

Navigator Læsø offers real adventures all over the fantastic island of Læsø. This event is for runners, orienteers, ultrarunners, adventurers, scouts - everyone who loves to find their way, get great nature experiences, exercise and enjoy a friendly competition. The only aids are maps, compass and smartphone - you complete the race by running or walking - other aids than your good legs are not allowed. In the video above you can see a small summary from the first edition of Navigator, which we held on Læsø the last weekend in April 2024. The competition itself is designed as a "point race". This means that you can choose which checkpoints you want to visit and in what order. The harder the checkpoint is to find - the more points it gives. The participant with the most points who completes within the time frame in the class will be the winner. It is allowed to follow other participants as much as you wish. See in the video below how to do it. Each participant will be given a "map pack" with physical maps showing all checkpoints and a list indicating how many points each checkpoint gives. In addition, you will receive a code for the smartphone app "GPS Orienteering" so that you can see all checkpoints on your phone. In addition, you can always see your own location on your phone's screen - that way you have an "aid" that always shows you where you are in relation to checkpoints. Your phone is thus also guaranteed not to go completely crazy! In the video below you see one of the easy checkpoints in the harbor area. Remember a strong power bank for charging along the way - the GPS app uses a lot of power! The entry fee includes, in addition to maps and access to the App, refreshments at depots, a meal of Thai food at the finish line and drinks there and last but not least a super nice medal. There will also be a nice trophy for the winners in each class. One for ladies & one for gentlemen. You get the great Navigator experience in the main class of 6 hours, but we have also created a "Kids" class of 1 hour, where everyone can participate and get to complete a "Mini Navigator". In the kids class, the winners of the great trophy will be the participants under 15 years of age (girl & boy) who get the most points. Everyone can participate regardless of age and everyone who gets points will also receive the great medal in this class, it's just that only the children are fighting for the trophy :-) The 1-hour class runs in the same way as the big classes, just with a map that is a little easier to read and that only covers the area around the event center on Læsø. Participants get a 50% discount on the ferry to Læsø - discount code will be sent when you register. The event center & finish as well as the start for the 1-hour edition will be at "Læsø Guesthouse" where you can also book a special accommodation offer for participants. Call them on 81888707. The start for the original 6-hour Navigator is currently secret. Transport to the starting point from Læsø Guesthouse will be arranged and the cost of this is included in your entry fee.
