Welcome to Vikersundbakken Trappeløp 2025, a unique endurance challenge at the world’s largest ski-flying hill in Vikersund, Norway. This vertical race is not for the faint of heart — climb 1,081 stairs per lap, again and again, across several time formats including a brand-new 4-person team relay.
Race Formats:
- 24-hour solo and team relay – Starts Friday, June 20 at 21:00
- 12-hour solo – Starts Saturday, June 21 at 09:00
- 6-hour solo – Starts Saturday, June 21 at 15:00
- 1-lap fun run – Start anytime
New for 2025: Team Relay
Form a team of 4 and share one timing chip. Only one person runs at a time, and the team decides who holds the chip each lap. Forget the chip? That lap doesn’t count. Strategy is key!
Course Details:
Each loop is approximately 2.2 km with 202 meters of elevation gain. You'll climb the full 1,081 stairs up Vikersundbakken and descend along a gravel road back to the start. The final lap must be started no later than 20:35 on Saturday, June 21, for it to count in the results.
Participation Perks:
- All participants who complete at least one lap receive a medal
- Start and finish area with toilets, showers, and water stations
- Café open during the day with snacks, drinks, and cold refreshments
- Bring your own food and drink to reduce waste
- Folding chairs are encouraged for rest between laps
- Multiple parking areas near the hill and start zone
Important Notes:
!! Participation is at your own risk
!! The organizer reserves the right to remove any participant from the race for safety reasons — no exceptions
!! Registration is binding: no refunds or bib transfers
