From 8-10 September 2023, trail runners from across the globe will meet in the beautiful Gastein Valley for the grand finale of the season. #CelebrateTheSport is the motto of the adidas TERREX INFINITE TRAILS in SalzburgerLand and it runs like a red thread through the event, which according to its participants "is so much more than just a race". Last year, 52 nations were at the start. Here's a little recap: It doesn't matter whether you're experiencing your very first trail race as a beginner on the 15K loop or as an ultra-fan you’re scrubbing a whopping 5000 vertical meters over three Gastein peaks on the unique 60K route, at the @infinitetrailsrace all skill levels will enjoy a unique and unforgettable trail weekend. From the arrival in the Gastein Valley to the after-race Kaiserschmarrn party on the summit of the Stubnerkogel, you’ll be surrounded by passionate runners and running communities, enthusiastic spectators, caring volunteers and a perfectly coordinated organizational team. The adidas TERREX INFINITE TRAILS are an ardent declaration of love to trail runners. Since its inception, the focus of the INFINITE TRAILS is the team race. Here you do not only run for yourself, but for your teammates. Three runners start as a relay in the women, men, or mixed category. All teams must cover a total distance of 100 kilometers and 7,600 meters in altitude, divided into three different loops that consider different types of runners: Loop S = 21km/1900m - Loop M = 35km/2700m - Loop L = 44km/3000m. In order to have enough racing time in daylight for all three distances and as much "common time" as possible after the race, you start at the same time in the morning and turn onto your respective loop. The shared experience is not only in the foreground in the team format. The entire race day is designed in such a way that you, your friends, and the running community can share many special moments with each other. In addition to plenty of vertical meters on fantastic single trails and around 350 highly motivated volunteers along the route, the race, which is organized with great attention to detail, offers you an almost luxurious post-finish area with several saunas, a whirlpool, a swimming lake and a physiotherapy center for regeneration. The Alpentherme Gastein is exclusively available to participants on the day of the race as an athletes' garden, free entry is part of the starter package. And to ensure that the last finishers can also enjoy the special atmosphere, the award ceremony takes place in the thermal spa – and seamlessly transitions into a huge party. At this time the Gastein volunteers, who worked during the day at the aid stations or as course marshals, will join the runners. One large trail community that celebrates the sport together.
