The Break the Silence 5K, hosted by Sigma Pi Rho Chapter in Cary, NC, is a rallying event for suicide awareness and mental health. Initiated in 2011 in memory of Marc Haege, this annual 5K aims to eliminate the stigma around mental health, encouraging open dialogue and support. It supports a local mental health organization, raising significant funds each year with a goal of $100,000. Participants join to foster a caring community, where mental health is prioritized and no one faces challenges alone.
