A unique running experience for nature lovers

The 7th edition of the Hafkamp Groenewegen De Ronde Venen Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 17, 2024. Runners can again choose from the Marathon, the Duo Marathon (alternating running and cycling with 2 participants) and the 10 kilometers. There is a children's run in Abcoude, the Mini-Marathon. Start and finish are in Abcoude, a village just south of Amsterdam. The Marathon and the Duo Marathon have a beautiful course through the eight villages of the municipality of De Ronde Venen, along rivers and through green areas. Marathon / Duo marathon:

You run the Marathon and Duo Marathon on a unique course. One big tour along / through all eight centers of the municipality of De Ronde Venen: Abcoude, Baambrugge, Vinkeveen, Wilnis, Mijdrecht, De Hoef, Amstelhoek and Waverveen and back to Abcoude. On traffic-free and traffic-calmed roads, a former railway, along rivers and through meadows.

On the last kilometers to Abcoude comes the surprise, namely a beautiful nature reserve: Botshol, a hamlet and a lake and swamp area. In rainy weather it can be swampy there.

10 kilometers

For runners who have been participating in runs for some time, the 10 km course is a classic. It is the former route of the Tour of Abcoude. The route starts at the Raadhuisplein in the historic center of Abcoude. You have to go around 't Schapenweitje and then via the Koppeldijk towards Baambrugge. Via the winding De Horn, the runners go via the center of Baambrugge towards the tunnel under the A2. Turn right under the tunnel, back towards Abcoude. The A2 is neatly hidden behind the noise barrier, while the runners pass through a green environment. The route then continues under the A2 past the Winkel in the direction of Abcoude. The last kilometer goes through the buildings, with a finish in the center on Raadhuisplein.
