The Galatzó Legend is a mountain marathon race (43 km or 26,7 miles) that starts at Sa Vinya square (Es Capdellà), runs through the country estate of Galatzó and finishes at the same place.  During the race the participants will ascend two of the most important peaks of the Serra de Tramuntana, Esclop (927m) and Galatzó (1027m). The event takes places almost entirely within the country estate of Galatzó and along two well-known routes of the estate.

Thanks to the recovery work of an old route of the Galatzó estate, Camí de Sa Font Nova, we present a new, improved Galatzó Legend circuit. The incorporation of the spectacular and runnable Cami de Sa Font Nova allows us to achieve three objectives that the organisers of the event have been pursuing since the beginning of the race: Reduce as much as possible the two-way stretches that the race used to have, eliminate permanently the last section of the race, the one related to the uphill and downhill loop of Ses Planes, and introduce a new route of great scenic interest, 100% mountain and runnable. We believe that this circuit makes the Galatzó Legend much more spectacular and that it largely reflects the wishes of the majority of people who have taken part in the race over the years.

The Galatzó Half  is a trail race designed for the enjoyment of mountain lovers who practice half-distances. It’s also ideal for those trail-running rookies looking for their first experience in a long distance. The course runs 100% on mountain trails and it starts and ends at Sa Vinya Square, in Es Capdellà. The course of the half marathon goes through some of the trails that connect the amazing Finca Pública de Galatzó.

From the 2022 edition of the race we will have a new and spectacular route. The objective is that the participants of the Half will also face a summit, in this case, Sa Mola de s’Esclop. The direction of the route has been reversed in comparison to previous editions (before 2022) and improvements have been made to the itinerary. Participants will walk the ancestral path of Pas des Cosi uphill, whereas previously they did it downhill. This change will also help to reduce erosion in the area. The modifications made to the Galatzó Half route serve to make it more attractive, more challenging and technical, with an emblematic summit and also somewhat more demanding.
