Description

This year too, we encourage the entire city to pull on their running gear and enjoy an active day with the family in the green – while raising funds for further talent development in the sporting field.

The Hørsholm race is an annual event, and the profits from both participants and supporting sponsors go entirely to Team Hørsholm's work with young talents.

It is possible to run a half marathon, 10km and 5km, all of which are held in a 5km and 10km round trip in a public-friendly manner.

It is also possible to run a separate family and children's route of 2 or 4 km.

From 2024, we have also added two walking routes of 10 and 16 km for those who prefer to walk.

When you participate in the Hørsholmløbet, you will not only be dressed with a smile, competitive spirit and good legs - you will also get fresh air and lots of opportunities to see your city and its many scenic surroundings.

The 5 km route starts along the castle lake and continues along Folehavevej. At Mathildevejen you run into the forest and first 1-2 km downhill on the wide gravel road, after which you return via a hilly narrower path, on to the western part of Slotshaven and to the finish line. The route is primarily run on gravel paths, but approx. 1 km is asphalt. The total climb on the route is approx. 45m

The 10-km route follows the 5 km route in the first part, but from approx. 2 km the route goes into the forest and runs on gravel paths until approx. 8.5 km where the route again follows the last 1.5 km together with the 5-km route to the finish line. The route is primarily run in the forest on wide gravel paths, but between approx. 2 km and 4.5 km the route follows a narrower "trail-like" path. Parts of the route are quite hilly and in total there is an ascent of approx. 115m on this route. There will be refreshments (water) at 3km and 7km on this route.

The half marathon route is largely identical to the 10km route, which is run twice, but also contains an extra loop, so the total distance comes to 21.2 km

The family and children's route runs on its own 2 km round-trip on the paths in the castle park around Hørsholm Church, where the route is completed once or twice.

Walking routes This year too, in collaboration with Charlotte Stevnsborg (known from Just Walk), we have two walking routes of 10 and 16 km respectively. The routes are walked with a walking host as a guide, but otherwise largely follow the marked Blixen route. Like the runners, you will receive both a participant number and a finish time on the trip. Registration takes place at the same place as for the running routes.

Practical information

The start and finish area for all routes is located at Hørsholm Ridebane (Rungstedvej), so there are good opportunities for friends and family to meet up and support.

A practical note: Leave the car at home, take the bike, walk or bus (150S, 274, 500S, 375) instead - there will be many people in the area on race day, but there are plenty of parking options in the city center, e.g. at Kammerådensvej behind the pedestrian zone.

We look forward to seeing you.
