For many, the monolith race has already become a tradition, and it is not without reason. Since the race was first organized in 2013, Haldense residents and visitors alike have had the chance to experience 9 km of demanding but scenic terrain along the Iddefjord. You choose for yourself whether you want to run, jog or walk the Monolittløpet.

The route to the Monolittløpet runs through the areas where the raw stone for the Vigeland sculpture Monolithen was carved. The start is at the velodrome at Ystehede, and the finish line is the square in the center of Halden. Regardless of the pace you aim for from the start, you must be aware that the route involves a lot of climbing, and some very steep sections. But you will get a good nature experience, regardless of how well you meet your own expectations!
