Description
Skuggenatten Opp was organized for the first time in 2010 and has become a recognized downhill race at national level. The NM downhill race was held here in both 2015 and 2018. Treungen (247 m above sea level) is the center of Nissedal municipality, which is located in Vest-Telemark. Skuggenatten (706 m) is an easily visible peak from the city centre, and is a very popular summit destination.
The race starts at the sports facility at 250 m and follows the old railway line for 800 meters before it crosses over to the marked hiking trail up to Skuggenatten at 706 m . A total of 456 meters of altitude and an average climb of 10%.
In the starting area there is access to changing rooms, showers and toilets.
Cash prizes for the three fastest men and women, as well as trophies for the three best in each class. NOK 10,000 for a new course record (22.18 min for men and 26.36 min for women).
Treungen IL organizes Skuggenatten Opp 10 June and has been awarded the NM in downhill running
2023, U-23, senior 24-34 and the veteran classes.
