The adidas Stockholm Marathon is one of RunAgain's recommended races and will be held this year on 3 June. RunAgain will be represented before, during and after the race, and among the ambassadors who will run this year are Cathrine and Nicolaj.
It will be our first encounter with this international and renowned marathon that runs through the heart of Stockholm. It will be a great experience. We have both been to Stockholm several times before, but nothing can beat the experience of a big city through a marathon! There are probably many people who think it sounds strange, and if you are one of them, then you haven't taken part in one of the big marathons yet!
Through such an event, the pulse in the city increases to new heights - not just your own. What could possibly top the experience of running past the most beautiful parts of Stockholm, being carried forward by cheers, music, large crowds and a feeling of mastery that increases with every kilometer covered?
The trail goes through the historic core of "Gamla Stan", past the "royal castle", the beautiful nature at Djurgården and Sødermalm. The icing on the cake will be an epic finish inside Stockholm Stadion - the stadium that hosted the 5th Summer Olympic Games in 1912! When you reach the tartan at Stockholm Stadium, and over 42 kilometers of mastery have been covered, you just have to enjoy the finish line ahead of you. Take it all in and enjoy every second of this ending!
Perhaps you will also set a personal record this day - and the experience of it should be the same for you as for the athletes who have set no less than 83 world records in this stadium! It is a record no other athletics arena can match me! Record or not - the mastery of winning over 42.2 kilometers is always a unique feeling. You should treat yourself to it!
What are your thoughts and expectations for Adidas Stockholm, Nicolaj?
I have taken part in well over 100 running competitions, but only four of these are marathons. I ran three marathons between 2005-2007, but only saw again in Valencia in 2022. Damn ass! Should have run many more marathons - because the experience of training for and mastering a marathon was absolutely raw! I love running, and especially running races. And what's better when the race itself lasts much longer! Like a marathon! Then I get even more time in this unique mastery, joy and adrenaline zone that a race provides. It is not over in less than 18 minutes like a 5000m race. That's why I'm really looking forward to running in Stockholm - experiencing the city with new eyes and being carried forward by all fellow runners and the sea of people along the course.

I hope to run against my time from Valencia (2:51:54) - but as always with outdoor sports, the weather is a joker there. So the most important thing for me is to actually run a smooth race where I have prepared well enough for the fastest kilometer to be the last - and not least to have enough energy all the way to look around, give a few high-fives and take enter all the impressions. The only thing I'm excited about, I think, is the temperature. The race takes place in June - so blue skies, scorching sun over 25 degrees are present. Then the ambition must be lowered in terms of time, and have a great focus on drinking well. The advantage then is probably that there are even more along the trail. So top anyway!
What are your thoughts, Cathrine?
I, Cathrine, am lucky enough to take part in the Stockholm Marathon. A fantastically beautiful city that I like very much. I will try to enjoy every kilometer through the city and really enjoy the folk festival that I can imagine this day will be!

I started running in 2016 when a good friend of mine got cancer. She needed vital treatment which unfortunately was not covered and I would like to help her. I had no money to help, but I had my health and started running to collect money per Km. I ran. Started by signing up for 10 km and eventually it became a half marathon.
For the past two years I have been an ultra runner and love long runs. I'm not that fast, but I'm tough. I don't run marathons very often, but I have a goal and that is to aim for 3.45/3.40. Then have to try to sharpen the marathon form for Stockholm. Looking forward to it!
